The Silver Man, The Tiger And The Dragon – Part 1

A child sits on a mirror-still blue landscape watching a silver figure with glowing eyes face a dark, snarling creature, while another child flees down a lamplit alleyway.

When I was very young, up to my teens, I would often have terrible nightmares. During my teens, they got quite regular. I would have a recurring one of being chased down an alleyway by something that I never saw but was snarling and clattering into bins and debris as it ran past them, pursuing me.

I never saw how that dream would end, as I would wake up when I could feel whatever was making the noise get close behind me and grab me. I would always wake up at that point, pretty terrified!

My dreams were very vivid as a youngster, and so was my imagination. I was very artistic and creative and would spend hours drawing and making things. I could draw from my imagination without photo reference and could visualise things in my mind in 3D and look at them from different angles and perspectives.

My imagination was my playground, and in my teens, this got more powerful, where I could construct whole landscapes and scenes in my mind and wander around them.

But it wasn’t until my teens, when I started to listen to rave music, that I began to sync these images and create images and landscapes in my mind that were in sync with peaks and beats in the music. It was great fun, and I was frustrated that I could not create what I saw, as I was limited in my artistic skill to do so and had no computers with super-powerful software back then. What ones that may have existed at the time were out of my reach and in the hands of huge entertainment companies.

One night, when I was having the recurring nightmare of being chased by this unknown entity down the alleyway, as I was running from it, a door of light appeared in front of me, which I ran unwittingly straight into.

I was then engulfed in light, and the snarling of the entity was no more. The light began to disappear, and I found myself standing in a blue landscape. The ground was perfectly flat, and the sky seemed to mirror the ground for as far as the eye could see. As I turned around, taking in this landscape, there was another door of light, and then, from this door, a man appeared. He was silver from head to toe and had glowing whitish-yellow eyes. He was in, like, some skin-tight suit or something, as he had no facial features except his glowing eyes. No ears, mouth or nose.

I got a great sense of peace and calm, a vibrant, warm feeling from his presence. He stood there, and then a white ball of light from his chest came out and travelled across to me and went into my chest. As it entered my chest, I felt this wave of light go through me. There was stillness and clarity, and I was awash in white light.

I remember waking up from that dream feeling at peace and with, like, a ringing in my ears.

Some weeks after, I was having the recurring nightmare again, the snarling noise chasing me. I saw the door of light appear in front of me in the distance again, and this time, with full intention, ran towards it and jumped into it.

I was surrounded by light again, which faded away to find myself in the blue landscape again. And there, waiting for me, was the silver man. He seemed to bow his head, and a light shimmered out from him. He turned and walked away, and I followed him. I was looking around, as there was nothing: no trees, mountains, no wind or singing birds, nothing, just a blue, perfectly flat ground and sky that seemed a perfect reflection of the ground.

I wondered where the man was going, and then he stopped and turned to face me. He stood as if in a martial arts stance, and I just stood there, not feeling threatened by this man due to the feeling he was emitting of peace and calm. But suddenly, I could hear the snarling noise a distance behind me. I didn’t feel scared, however, and turned round to see what looked like a tall, muscular reptilian humanoid. He was covered in armour and was like an unstable image. It was like he was flickering in and out of focus. There was a very static, electrical feel to this creature.

It was some way in the distance and then began to run towards me. I turned to the silver man, and light shone at his feet, and he began to sink into the ground, into this light. I didn’t feel fear of any sort but turned back round to face the creature that was snarling and running towards me. Then light moved below me as if it was in the ground, and it seemed like the ground was semi-transparent, like a crystal. The light in the ground stopped in between me and this approaching creature, and the silver man then emerged from the light, up from the ground, with his back to me.

It then seemed I was transported away from the silver man and to the left, and a safe distance away, I could see the silver man standing in the stance he was in moments ago, as the creature ran towards him. The creature leapt at the silver man, and everything slowed down. The silver man just calmly put out his hand, and as he did, light began to appear in the ground beneath his feet, and I could see it course up his legs, to his chest and then out to his hand.

Still in slow motion, the creature flew through the air, lashing out at the silver man as it leapt at him, then came to a stop as the silver man’s hand connected with the creature’s chest. The whole scene was frozen, apart from the light that was coursing from roots of light in the ground, up through the silver man’s body and into his hand from his chest. This was still moving and flowing. Then, slowly, the light began to flow into the creature’s chest and then began to spread.

Then Boom!

The scene came back to normal speed, and the creature flew away from the silver man as if it had been hit with a tremendous force. The creature crashed to the ground some distance away, then began to distort and flicker, then dissolve. Particles of darkness that were being infused with light drifted up to the sky from this creature’s body as it disappeared.

The silver man then walked over to me, bowed his head as he did when I first saw him, and as the light pulsed from him again, it got brighter and engulfed me. I would wake up and have, like, a ringing in my ears again, but a clarity and calmness about me.

Again, what may have been months later, I was having the nightmare again, being chased by the snarling creature down the alleyway. I was still running and looking for the door of light ahead, but it was not there. Then, ahead of me, the ground began to glow, and the silver man appeared from the light. He then stood in a martial arts stance again. I stopped running, confident the silver man would take on the creature and save me. I turned to face the creature, expecting to see the reptilian creature that I saw before in the blue landscape. But it wasn’t a reptile. It was like a ball-like, chaotic vortex of purple and black energy, and as I faced it, it stopped in its tracks and began to hiss and shriek. I looked at it and thought, “I’m not scared of that,” and began to focus on it, trying to figure out what it was. And with this, the vortex shrieked and began to shrink and dart around as if to avoid my stare. It got smaller and smaller until it vanished!

I turned to the silver man, but he was not there. I was alone in the alleyway. Then I woke up and felt calm and clear, but no ringing noise.
